How Trimming Works
Video trimming extracts a portion of your video between two time points. Our tool re-encodes the selected segment using FFmpeg with H.264 for video and AAC for audio. Re-encoding ensures frame-accurate cuts at any position — not just at keyframes — so the trimmed clip starts and ends exactly where you set the handles.
The output maintains the original video resolution and frame rate. Audio is preserved in sync with the video throughout the trimmed segment.
Common Use Cases
- Remove intro and outro — cut out unnecessary opening titles or ending credits from recordings. Useful for cleaning up screen recordings, webinar captures, or lecture videos.
- Extract a specific clip — pull out the best moment from a longer video. Perfect for saving highlights, funny moments, or important segments from meetings.
- Social media length limits — trim videos to fit platform requirements: 60 seconds for Instagram Reels, 3 minutes for TikTok, 15 seconds for Stories. Get exactly the right length.
- Email attachments — shorten videos to reduce file size for email. A 30-second clip is much smaller than a 5-minute recording, making it easy to send.
- Remove unwanted sections — cut out mistakes, pauses, or irrelevant parts from the beginning or end of a video before sharing.
